Kettle Art 20th Anniversary
Since our humble, grassroots beginnings in November 2005, Kettle Art has become a staple of the North Texas contemporary art scene. Our mission has always been clear: to showcase local talent and foster a rich variety of cultural experiences. By focusing on regional artists, we host exhibitions, performances, and events that bring together creativity and community in a unique way.
Two decades later, we’re still firmly rooted "Deep in the Art of Ellum," a place where it all started. What began as a small initiative to bring positive energy back to the neighborhood after the closing of legendary venues like the Gypsy Tea Room, Trees, and the Green Room has blossomed into an important chapter in our story.
A generous offer from a local property owner sparked what has become an award-winning gallery known for its distinctive voice and commitment to high-quality art. What seemed simple at first—hanging a few pieces of art and flipping on some lights—quickly turned into a full-time commitment. From curating thought-provoking exhibitions to promoting events and welcoming the community, it's been a labor of love, all set in a space that is as inviting as it is beautiful.
Our goal from day one? To shake up the conventional art scene and champion the underrepresented local talent and street art that were often overlooked. And after 20 years, that spirit still guides everything we do.
To celebrate, we're hosting a Twentieth Anniversary Exhibition on Saturday, November 22, from 4 to 7 PM, featuring "the Instigators"—artists who have played a key role in Kettle Art’s journey. Artists include: Mark S. Nelson, Cathey Miller, Justin Clumpner, Corey Godfrey-Moulton, Richard Ross, Katrina Rasmussen, Nick Glenn, Erin Curry, Mahsa Moein, Beverly Parson White, Jamie Walters, Marc Dominus, Melanie Hardy Campbell, Jason Janik, Judith Lea Perkins, William Bubba Flint, Candice Lindsay, Sandra Boskamp, and many more.
At the same time, from 4 to 7 PM, join us for the Discover Deep Ellum Wine Walk. This popular event will feature a brand-new, limited-edition glass design, created by Kettle Art owner Frank Campagna. With a map in hand, guests can enjoy complimentary wine tastings at 15–20 local shops. Early bird tickets are just $15, with prices increasing to $20 during the week of the event and $25 on the day of the walk. Don't miss out—grab your tickets early and add to your glass collection!
After the reception and wine walk, starting at 7:00 PM, we'll head across the street to 2647 Main Street, where we’ll keep the celebration going with live music by drum & bass act Big Techs and the return of the legendary singer-songwriter Madison King. This event is part of the Deep Ellum Block Party and is brought to you by Kettle Art and Asana Partners.
We can't wait to celebrate 20 years with you and the vibrant community that’s made this journey possible. See you there!
