FREE DEEP ELLUM BLOCK PARTY COMING BACK THIS NOVEMBER
One day. One incomparable neighborhood. All the music you can handle Nov. 22
The Deep Ellum Block Party is coming back. And this time, we take over the whole neighborhood. Imagine one epic day, packed with performances from local legends, district regulars, and fresh up-and-coming talent — all FREE across the iconic Deep Ellum District, Dallas' cultural and musical epicenter. With plenty of surprises in store, this culturally immersive community bash in the Deep Ellum Cultural District is not to miss this Fall.
With an eclectic mix of genres, the Block Party will reflect Deep Ellum’s vast variety of musical talent that can be experienced across the district’s 25+ venues every week of the year (Full Schedule Announcement coming soon). The day will also feature live mural creations, an artist’s market, wine walk, and plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. Saturday night, as the sun sets, exclusive reunions, mashups, and genre-centric showcases will light up iconic venues across the district.
“Deep Ellum (Block Party) thawed out a part of me I didn’t realize was still frozen,” said Poppy Xander of Polyphonic Spree & Helium Queens after the 2024 event. “Best thing in 10 years,” shared Leah Lane of Rosegarden Funeral Party.
Deep Ellum’s history as the birthplace of Dallas’ music scene — from the bluesy licks of Blind Lemon Jefferson to the hip-hop, punk and indie sounds that define today’s landscape — will be front and center. The Historic District’s story is inextricably intertwined with music, a major reason the neighborhood is known as “the soul of Dallas.” The place where musicians come to cut their teeth and build their legacy, Deep Ellum has served as a launchpad for countless artists and bands for over 100 years at famous venues from Trees to Three Links to Gypsy Tea Room.
Last year Polyphonic Spree and Raekwon (of the Wu-Tang Clan) headlined the Block Party backed by over 80 musicians. This year, the district is digging even deeper to showcase the neighborhood’s unique venues and wide-ranging music scene in one energy-packed day. Whether you're vibing with a lowkey wine walk where you can casually catch a few buskers, exploring intimate sets at venues like Texas Tea Room or Deep Ellum Art Co., or in the mood for full frontal rock’n’roll at Double Wide, the lineup has something for every sonic explorer.
And of course, you can’t forget the food! Local eateries will be serving up their best bites, while drink specials and deals at neighborhood hotspots will keep you fueled for a day of celebration. Supported including through grants from the Texas Commission on the Arts, local businesses and DEF, all are welcome to join in this FREE Deep Ellum Block Party beginning at 3:00pm. Whether you're a music junkie, art lover, or just looking for a good time, the Deep Ellum Block Party is your can't-miss event this November.
